A professional nanny is sought by an established family in the Forest Hill area of Toronto. This excellent opportunity is full-time and involves some travel. The person would work in a professional residence as a member of a team responsible for children ranging in age from 2 to 11 years.
The parents are very involved in the lives of their children and the successful applicant will be in regular communication with them.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Working with a team of nannies to provide a safe, nurturing, caring, and stimulating environment for 4 children (1 of whom is non-school age)

During the week the nanny will be primarily focused on the youngest who is not in school yet

The nanny will organize activities, play dates (indoor and outdoor), etc.

Being able to swim with the children
-
Ensuring a safe environment for the children at all times
-
The nanny will foster healthy early childhood development that includes mental and physical activities
-
Reading to the children and encouraging reading and comprehension skills
-
Assistance with homework as required
-
The nanny will coordinate care and communication along with colleagues
-
During weekends the nanny’s focus will shift from a single child to the 4 children
-
During the week, the Private Chef prepares meals for the children
-
During weekends the nanny assists in preparing simple meals for the children
-
Bathing and dressing as needed
-
Childrens’ laundry as needed
-
Keeping bedrooms and play areas neat and organized
-
Driving children using a household vehicle to activities
-
Staying in direct communication with parents and/or the Supervising Nanny
-
Coordination of schedules with parents and co-workers
-
Report any problem, illness, or injury immediately
-
Exercising calm, common sense in the event of an emergency

Travelling with the family as needed
Skills and Aptitudes:
-
5-years’ experience in a similar role is preferred
-
Must hold a G-Level Driver’s License and feel comfortable driving children
-
Should have nurturing, kind, active, and creative traits
-
Must be able to demonstrate an ability to work well and cooperatively with others
-
Must have a genuine love for working with children and fostering healthy intellectual and physical growth

Education in early childhood development is an asset
-
An ability to plan, coordinate, and execute activities that are fun, stimulating, and safe. Ideally, activities should be tailored to the particular interests of the children.

Ability to travel with the family as needed

Ability to work successfully with culturally diverse co-workers

Ability to work the schedule of Wednesday to Sunday, 9am to 6pm

Good communication skills - written and spoken

Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and co-workers

Good listening skills
-
An ability to assist children with their homework
-
An ability to prepare simple and nutritious meals for children on the Private Chef’s days off

CPR and First Aid Certifications are definite assets

Must be able to swim

Excellent English speaking skills

Must be legally eligible too work in Canada

Must hold a valid Canadian passport

Must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement
