Seeking an experienced Personal Chauffeur for a Vaughan-based  CEO. This is a full-time position. The position schedule is typically Wednesday to Sunday with Mondays and Tuesdays off, however, flexibility is required. Applicants should have experience driving C-Level Executives. The successful applicant must hold a valid Canadian passport as there is travel outside of Canada to the United States. Visa requirements shall be negotiated directly with the employer.

Personal Chauffeur Responsibilities:
  • The Personal Chauffeur is responsible for driving a CEO in a safe, professional and courteous manner.

  • This Vaughan-based position involves frequent trips with the CEO to the United States, around the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and other locations within Canada.

  • The primary vehicle is a sprinter van.

  • In addition to driving the CEO, the Chauffeur will also drive customers, guests, associates and family members on an as needed basis.

  • Ensure the car is always mechanically sound, fuelled and correctly provisioned.

  • Ensure the car is properly detailed, clean and presentable.

  • Scheduling, management and driving family vehicles to service appointments.

  • Responsible for performing pre-departure vehicle checks and visual inspections.

  • Maintaining all records pertaining to family vehicles.

  • Managing vehicle expenses and providing monthly reconciliations with receipts. 

  • Use of technology and smartphone apps for pre-planning of routes, researching road closures, traffic problems, identification of events that will slow traffic, and following weather reports.

  • Various office and personal errands for the CEO and other office staff.

  • Carry packages and luggage to and from the vehicle.

  • While not driving, the Chauffeur may be asked to perform office-related duties like boardroom setup for meetings, provisioning, etc.

  • While travelling, the Chauffeur will be provided with accommodation and a per diem.

  • The schedule is flexible and subject to change. It does usually involve weekend work with two days off during the week.

  • Other related or not related duties, as needed.

 
Skills and Aptitudes:
  • Must have no criminal record.

  • Three (3) years’ experience as a corporate / private chauffeur experience is an asset 

  • A valid driver’s license is a requirement.

  • An accident free and ticket free driving record is a prerequisite.

  • Experience driving various vehicles, including confidence driving a sprinter van are musts.

  • A clean insurance record and ability to get insurance in Ontario are prerequisites.

  • A valid Canadian Passport and the ability to travel to the US with no restriction is a requirement.

  • Occasional evening work required.

  • Good English communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Applicants should have a reasonable command of smartphone apps for schedule management, mapping of routes, road closures and task assignment purposes (Calendar, E-mail and map apps as a minimum).

  • Working knowledge of Office Suite programs is a definite asset. Excel is used for record keeping.

  • Adhere to all safe and legal driving practices.

  • Experience driving in variable weather conditions.

  • Excellent knowledge of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) road system is essential.

  • Ability to impart a sense of confidence in passengers is key.

  • The ability to demonstrate an appropriate level of courtesy, integrity, respect and discretion is essential. A polished and professional bearing is expected.

  • Must be punctual and organized.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all company and personal information and property. Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement is expected.

  • Flexibility to manage last minute changes and to receive instructions for the days in the morning.

  • The candidate should be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs.

  • The candidate should have their own vehicle so that they can get to and from the Vaughan-based work location.

  • The ideal candidate pays attention to details, has common sense and the ability to execute and “figure things out.” 

  • The successful candidate will understand professional boundaries and be in tune with the CEO’s routines, likes and dislikes.

  • Willingness to stay engaged by taking on other tasks is an asset.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

  • This is a smoke-free work environment.
