Job #104 Travelling Nanny position with Toronto Family

Professional Nanny • Toronto, Ontario • Live-in and out, Full-time


This is a rare Canadian opportunity for a true professional Nanny to work in a professional household. It is a great opportunity for an individual who is experienced with children, their care and nurturing. It is a travelling role that requires both domestic and international travel. The candidate must also be a driver with a clean driving record. The position is shared with another nanny as is the schedule. It is a combination live-in and live-out position. When the nanny is working the position is live-in. When the nanny is off work, the position is live-out. The nanny will share responsibility for two children ages 3 and 6 with another nanny through a split schedule. The focus is the children.

PLEASE NOTE: The position is only open to individuals who hold current status to legally work in Canada. Sponsorship will not be considered. 


  • Overall care, safety and well-being of two children (ages 3 and 6) as well as any future children

  • Provide a nurturing environment that cultivates interests, manners and emotional support

  • The Private Chef will do meal prep for the children and the nanny will complete the meals and help cultivate good table manners

  • Preparation of snacks

  • Both hands on and supervision of bathing of the children

  • When the pandemic is over, arranging, accompanying and organizing/hosting playdates

  • Organize various leisure activities that promote physical fitness and stimulate the mind. This would include swimming and water-related activities.

  • On occasion, waking up in the night if one or both children are unwell

  • On occasion, caring for the children at night if the parents are not at home or are having an event at the home

  • Coordinating the start of the day including wakeup, dressing, bathing and getting ready for bed

  • Driving children to school and programs as well as running occasional errands using a household vehicle

  • Taking the children to appointments, programs and activities

  • Housekeeping of children’s play areas and bedrooms

  • Children’s laundry and bedding as required

  • Travel with the family to cottage, other family homes and various international destinations. Comfortable accommodations are provided.

  • Thorough cleaning of the employee’s live-in quarters so it is clean for the other caregiver’s shift. Mutual respect is key.

  • The working spirit of the home is one of mutual and collaborative support when needed

  • Handling special requests and related duties as required from time to time

  • This job profile is dynamic and  will evolve as the family’s needs change



  • Childcare experience caring for toddlers to school-aged children

  • Experience working for HNW and/or UHNW families; a demonstrable track record of discretion and proven respect for NDAs within a UHNW employment context

  • Experience travelling with families internationally and travelled with toddlers to long-haul destinations; able to travel on short notice

  • Employment in roles that required regular proxy parenting (i.e. 24/7, live-in care without the parents present)

  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability; must be able to work in a self-directed manner with limited oversight

  • Prior responsibility for scheduling and overseeing children’s medical and dental care

  • Formal training in early childhood education and/or experience working within a daycare

  • Track record of continuing education and professional development

  • Discretion, trustworthiness and reliability are essential - must have experience working for HNW/UHNW families who are in the public eye; reliably maintains discretion when faced with press intrusion

  • Safety and environmental awareness

  • Must be a confident swimmer

  • Neatness and presentability in all aspects

  • Must be security conscious

  • Discretion and honesty in all matters

  • Must be willing to sign a Confidentiality Agreement

  • Must have good communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Must be punctual and organized

  • Must have a G-Level Driver’s License and be fully insurable

  • Must have a valid Canadian passport with no travel restrictions

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada Experience working in and managing homes
