Executive Housekeeper • Vancouver, British Columbia • Live-out, Full-time


Vancouver couple is seeking an experienced Executive  Housekeeper for their home in Vancouver as well as a second residence in Whistler. The position is full-time, live-out and offers an excellent salary as well as benefits.


The ideal candidate for this great opportunity is a career Private Service Professional who takes pride in their work. They should have experience working in luxury homes and knowledge of how to safely care for fine surfaces, furnishings and wardrobes. It is also important that the Executive Housekeeper not be afraid to ask questions when unsure. They should be willing to work effectively as a valued member of a team.


Individuals who have experience in the yachting world as a Chief or Second Stew are welcome to apply.

PLEASE NOTE: The position is only open to individuals who hold current status to legally work in Canada. Sponsorship will not be considered. 


  • Regular daily housekeeping duties (dusting, vacuuming, bathroom hygiene, washing floors, laundry, ironing, steaming and wardrobe management).

  • Deep cleaning as set out in the household standards (weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly).

  • Maintaining care of household valuables (art, furniture, china, crystal and other special collections) according to established care protocols.

  • Assistance with packing and unpacking of luggage.

  • Management of dry-cleaning.

  • Maintaining household inventories of consumable goods.

  • Assisting with the household shopping as required and running household errands.

  • Help as needed with any family entertaining and events.

  • Assist the Property Manager to drive the family if needed.

  • Assist with family guests, preparing the guest room as needed.

  • Facilitate and letting in approved trades and vendors for necessary business in the households.

  • Notify Principals or another party if something is damaged, not working and requires attention.

  • Assist with family dogs (walk, bathe, feed).

  • Travel to second residence in Whistler to help maintain the residence (there are two housekeepers who maintain the residence when the family is not there).

  • Always maintain confidentiality.

  • Anything else that might be required from time to time.

  • It is acknowledged that this job description is an evolving document that will change according to developments.



  • Must have previous experience working in a semi-formal residence or equivalent.

  • Excellent housekeeping, laundry and ironing skills.

  • Should be an organized and systematic worker who is able to work in a self-directed and pro-active manner (they should also be willing to receive special instructions from the employers).

  • Be able to create duty checklists for daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal tasks.

  • An eye for detail is key.

  • While the position is Monday to Friday, flexibility to work evenings and weekends will be required on occasion.

  • Must maintain privacy and confidentiality at all times, exercise diplomacy, discretion and respect of boundaries.

  • Applicants must be service oriented with excellent English communication skills.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • A pleasant and happy personality is important as is an ability and willingness to work with others.

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
