This is a good opportunity for an experienced professional Nanny to work in a professional household that is fully staffed. Applicants should be experienced with children, their care and nurturing. It is a travelling role that requires both domestic and international travel.


The candidate must also be a strong driver with a clean driving record who is comfortable driving children. The position is shared with another nanny as is the schedule (7 days on and live-in and 7 days off and live-out). The nanny will share responsibility for two children ages 4 and 7 with another nanny through a split schedule. The focus is the children. The position pays a competitive salary and comes with full medical benefits.


Applicants must hold current status to legally work in Canada. Sponsorship is not being considered. Applicants must also be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Overall care, safety and well-being of two children as well as any future children

  • Provide a nurturing environment that cultivates interests, manners and emotional support

  • Coordinating the start of the day including wakeup, dressing, bathing and getting ready for bed

  • Driving children to school and programs as well as running occasional errands using a household vehicle

  • The Private Chef will do meal prep for the children and the nanny will complete the meals and help cultivate good table manners

  • Preparation of snacks

  • Both hands on and supervision of bathing of the children

  • Arranging, accompanying and organizing/hosting playdates

  • Organize various leisure activities that promote physical fitness and stimulate the mind. This would include swimming and water-related activities.

  • On occasion, waking up in the night if one or both children are unwell

  • On occasion, caring for the children at night if the parents are not at home or are having an event at the home

  • Taking the children to appointments, programs and activities

  • When not looking after the children, the Nanny will participate in general housekeeping. The focus, however, is on the children.

  • Housekeeping of children’s bedrooms, play areas, laundry and bedding

  • Travel with the family to cottage, other family homes and various international destinations. Comfortable accommodations are provided.

  • Thorough cleaning of the employee’s live-in quarters so it is clean for the other caregiver’s shift. Mutual respect is key. The live-in quarters are separate from the main home and very comfortable.

  • The working spirit of the home is one of mutual and collaborative support when needed

  • Handling special requests and related duties as required from time to time

  • Communication with parents, the household manager and executive housekeeper

  • This job profile is dynamic and will evolve as the family’s needs change


Qualifications and Aptitudes:

  • Childcare experience caring for toddlers to school-aged children

  • Experience working for HNW and/or UHNW families; a demonstrable track record of discretion and proven respect for NDAs within a UHNW employment context

  • Experience travelling with families internationally and travelled with toddlers to long-haul destinations; able to travel on short notice

  • G-level driver’s license and confident driving children safely

  • Employment in roles that required regular proxy parenting (i.e. live-in care without the parents present)

  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability; must be able to work in a self-directed manner with limited oversight

  • Must be able to keep up with active children. Should be a confident swimmer who is able to supervise children as they swim.

  • Prior responsibility for scheduling and overseeing children’s medical and dental care

  • Formal training in early childhood education and/or experience working within a daycare is an asset

  • Discretion, trustworthiness and reliability are essential - must have experience working for HNW/UHNW families who are in the public eye; reliably maintains discretion when faced with press intrusion

  • Safety and environmental awareness

  • Must be a confident swimmer

  • Neatness and presentability in all aspects

  • Must be security conscious

  • Discretion and honesty in all matters

  • Must be willing to sign a Confidentiality Agreement

  • Must have good communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Must be punctual and organized

  • Must have a G-Level Driver’s License and be fully insurable

  • Must have a valid Canadian passport with no travel restrictions

  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Sponsorship is not being considered.
