This position is full-time with the option of being either live-in or live-out. This semi-formal family consists of mom, dad, two children, and a third child is along the way. This is not a nanny’s position. Instead, the candidate will be focused on housekeeping, laundry, and cooking.

This position is Monday to Friday, but the ideal candidate will be able to provide schedule flexibility.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Day to day cleaning and maintenance of the family home

• Daily cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen

• Cleaning, organization and maintenance of wardrobes, cupboards, drawers, pantry, etc.

• Seasonal deep cleaning of the residence (there is a cleaning service that comes on a monthly basis)

• Laundry and ironing

• Cooking as well as assistance with meal prep. Experience with Italian cooking is preferred.

• Post meal cleaning of the kitchen

• Management of trash and recycling

• Answering the telephone and taking accurate messages

• Answering the door while being mindful of security

• There is no travel required

• This is a family home and candidates must be child-friendly

• The person has the option of being either live-in or live-out. Live-in is preferred by the family.

• There are no pets in this home

 

Skills & Aptitudes:

• Applicants should have a pleasant, happy personality

• Being child-friendly is a must

• The ideal candidate has an ability to speak and understand Italian

• Experience with Italian cooking and a willingness to learn family recipes

• Should have a minimum of 5-years’ experience in professional Housekeeping and an eye for detail when cleaning

• Should have knowledge about cleaning and maintaining fine surfaces

• Should be experienced in the laundry room

• G-Level Driver’s License is an asset, but not a pre-requisite

• Should be able to swim for safety reasons

• Good communication skills

• Not be afraid to ask questions when unsure

• Should be able to work either independently or with instruction

• Good work discipline

• This is a non-smoking home

• Must be willing to submit to a reference check

• Must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement

• Must hold the necessary qualifications to legally work in Canada
