Cautionary Note For Job Seekers
In these days of Social Media where we post information about ourselves online, it is very important to be cognisant of individuals who prey upon those looking for work. There are many phishing schemes out there intended, not to help you, but to harvest your personal information.
It is a horrible truth, but there are those who will take advantage of people who are hopeful of finding good jobs for themselves. On occasion, disreputable individuals might misrepresent themselves as employees of Portico Inc. or some other reputable company in order to harvest personal information about you.
It is important to practice due diligence. If a job appears too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true. Delete the email and do not contact the sender. Alternatively, directly contact the company and inquire about the position. If the position is real, you will learn so very quickly. If not, you will prevent a situation in which you are a victim of fraud.
As a practice, we do contact people through social media about available positions. We invite anyone who is contacted by email to contact us directly and determine whether the position is real or fake. You will always get an honest response from us. That is our guarantee.
