Position: Housekeeper

Salary: $80,000 annual gross

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with a degree of flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend work

Paid Vacation: Three Weeks

A private household in midtown Toronto is seeking an experienced and dependable professional to provide detailed general housekeeping, laundry, ironing, organization, and basic home cooking. There is other staff in the home. This full-time, live-out position suits someone who takes pride in housekeeping, manages their time effectively, and brings a warm, discreet and professional approach to their work, including a collegial approach to working with work colleagues.

THE OPPORTUNITY

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Housekeeping and home care:

Maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness throughout the residence. Duties include routine cleaning, care of delicate surfaces and fine finishes, and scheduled deep cleaning. Keep outdoor furnishings and living areas clean and ready for use.

Laundry and wardrobe care:

Manage laundry, ironing and steaming, including clothing, towels and bed linens. Keep wardrobes and linen storage orderly, and handle garments according to care requirements.

Home cooking and kitchen upkeep:

Prepare daily, basic evening meals with provided recipes. Experience reading, understanding, and executing recipes. Coordinate meal preparation with the employer. Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining area, including post-meal cleanup.

Organization and supplies:

Keep cupboards, closets and storage areas tidy and functional. Monitor household essentials and communicate replenishment needs promptly.

Family occasions and teamwork:

Assist with preparations, light table service, and cleanup for occasional gatherings.

ABOUT YOU

• Demonstrated experience combining housekeeping and cooking in a private home

• Confident in preparing basic home-style meals and adapting to preferences

• Familiar with methods and products for fine furnishings, delicate materials and premium finishes

• Skilled in laundry, ironing, steaming and careful garment handling

• Organized and observant, with the initiative to notice and address tasks

• Able to balance cleaning, laundry and meal preparation within the working day

• Reliable, receptive to feedback, and comfortable adjusting priorities when needed

• Respectful of privacy and professional boundaries; pleasant and considerate manner.

• Able to manage stairs while working

• Having a valid G-level driver’s license is an asset, but not a requirement

• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
